Melissa Stitt, RDN
Melissa is a non-diet, HAES-aligned, Intuitive Eating, and all-foods-fit Registered Dietitian. She enjoys working with clients to rediscover that food is fuel but it is so much more than fuel. Food is joy and pleasure, comfort and memories, and helps us build connections with others. When people work towards removing guilt and value associated with food they are able to incorporate it in their lives in a pleasurable way. Melissa aims to help her clients feel more at peace with food and their bodies. While each client is treated individually, her clients can expect to work on fueling their body, including variety and balance throughout each day, listening to and honoring their body, and breaking down diet culture myths.
Melissa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Auburn University. She then completed the Morrison Chartwells dietetic internship with a focus in clinical nutrition. She began her career as a clinical Dietitian working in acute care and skilled nursing facilities. It wasn’t until she began working at a behavioral health facility that she realized her interest in working with the eating disorder population. After working in a higher level of care for several years, Melissa is happy to create relationships in the outpatient setting. Melissa works to provide a safe, judgment-free space for all people and she is a LGBTQIA+ Ally.
Melissa sees clients in the Gainesville and Herndon offices.
